Sarah J. Sloat
Artist Commentary: The Misery Poems belong to a series I began a year ago when I participated in The Poeming, in which poets were assigned a Stephen King book as a source text. Mine was Misery. I’d written found poetry before, mostly plucking words from the page and planting them elsewhere. With this project, I decided to leave the words where they were and see what grew up around them. All poems cited from:
King, Stephen, Misery. Hodder & Stoughton, 1987.
